Signature Resizer

Reduce a scanned or photographed signature to the file size an application form asks for. Choose the image, set the target size in KB and download a JPG.

🔒 Files are processed in your browser and are not uploaded to GovBabu servers.

How to use

  1. Click the upload box and choose your signature image (JPG, PNG or WebP).
  2. Enter the target size in KB. The box starts at 20 KB; the minimum is 5 KB.
  3. Click Process, then download the JPG.

What to expect

  • Each file can be up to 15 MB.
  • The output is always a JPG. Quality is lowered to reach the target and the image is scaled down further only if needed.
  • This tool matches a file-size target. It does not crop or set exact pixel dimensions, so check your exam notification for the required size, dimensions and format.
  • A PNG with a transparent background is saved with a white background, because JPG has no transparency.
  • For a clean result, sign with a dark pen on plain white paper and photograph or scan it in good light before resizing.

Common questions

What size should a signature be?

It depends on the exam. Signatures are often asked for at around 10–20 KB, but the notification for your exam gives the exact number.

Does it crop the signature or set exact pixel dimensions?

No. It reduces file size only. If a form needs specific dimensions, crop the image to that shape first and then use this tool for the size.

Is my signature uploaded anywhere?

No. The image is processed by your browser on your own device and is not sent to GovBabu servers.
