Photo Resizer
Reduce a photo to the file size an application form asks for. Choose your photo, set the target size in KB and download the result as a JPG.
🔒 Files are processed in your browser and are not uploaded to GovBabu servers.
How to use
- Click the upload box and choose one or more photos (JPG, PNG or WebP).
- Enter the target size in KB. The box starts at 50 KB; the minimum is 5 KB.
- Click Process, then download each JPG. Several photos can be processed at once with the same target.
What to expect
- Each file can be up to 15 MB.
- The output is always a JPG. Quality is lowered to reach the target; a photo wider than 2,500 pixels is scaled down, and if quality alone cannot reach the target the image is scaled down further.
- This tool matches a file-size target. It does not crop or set exact pixel dimensions, so check your exam notification for the required size, dimensions and format.
- If the target cannot be reached, the result is labelled “Closest possible” with its actual size.
Common questions
Does this change the dimensions of my photo?
It lowers JPEG quality first and scales the image down only when needed to get close to your target. It never crops, and it does not produce a specific width and height.
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
No. The photo is resized by your browser on your own device and is not sent to GovBabu servers.
What if the result is still bigger than the size I asked for?
The result is labelled “Closest possible” and shows its real size. Try a smaller photo, or enter a slightly higher target if the application allows it.
