FAQs
Is there a fixed passing percentage for the Rajasthan Police Constable written exam?
Yes — unlike many other state police exams that use pure merit cutoffs, Rajasthan sets fixed minimum qualifying percentages: 40% for General/OBC/MBC, 36% for SC/ST, 30% for TSP-area candidates, and 25% for Saharia (Baran) candidates.
How much negative marking is there, and does it change my strategy?
0.25 marks (a quarter mark) is deducted for every wrong answer, so guessing randomly on questions you're unsure about can hurt more than skipping them, especially since you need a fixed percentage (not just a merit rank) to pass.
What are the PET running requirements, and are they the same for everyone?
The standard requirement is a 5 km run in 25 minutes for men and 35 minutes for women, but there are relaxed timings (30 minutes) for ex-servicemen, Saharia candidates from Baran, and SC/ST candidates from TSP areas.
Do PST/PET marks add to my final selection score?
No — PST and PET are qualifying stages only; you must meet the height/chest/running standards to proceed, but they don't add marks to your merit, which is based on the written exam score (subject to the fixed qualifying percentage above).
