FAQs

Is RBI Grade B Phase 1 counted in the final merit list?

No, Phase 1 is a qualifying screening exam only; final merit is based on Phase 2 (Paper I, II, III) plus Interview marks.

Does the English paper in Phase 2 have negative marking?

No — it's a fully descriptive/typed paper (essay, precis, comprehension-based writing), so there's no negative marking on it, unlike the objective Phase 1 test.

What subjects does the Finance & Management (FM) paper cover?

It typically covers banking regulation, financial markets, risk management, corporate governance, and management/organizational behavior topics, combining objective and descriptive elements depending on the year.

How many vacancies does RBI Grade B 2026 have, and does that affect competition?

2026-cycle reports indicate a relatively small vacancy count (reported around 60 for Grade B DR-General in some 2026 sources), making this a highly competitive, low-vacancy recruitment cycle compared to bank PO/Clerk exams.
