FAQs

Does the CBT-1 score count towards my final merit rank?

No. CBT-1 is only a screening/shortlisting stage — only CBT-2 marks (plus typing test/CBAT where applicable) count toward the final merit list.

Will I get my application fee back if I don't show up for the exam?

No, the partial/full refund is only processed for candidates who actually appear for CBT-1, not for no-shows.

Is there a sectional cutoff within CBT-2, or just an overall one?

Only an overall qualifying percentage applies (varies by category); there is no separate minimum required per subject/section.

Do all NTPC posts require a typing test?

No — it depends on the specific post; some posts (e.g., Junior Clerk, Accounts Clerk) require a typing skill test while others (e.g., Station Master, Goods Guard) require CBAT instead.
